  7. Limit switches, all four types.
    • For normally open switches (whether held closed or not), the moving part (lever) of the switch is drawn below the terminals. In other words, gravity would tend to make the switch be open.
    • For normally closed switches (whether held open or not), the lever is drawn above the terminals. In other words, gravity would tend to make the switch be closed.
    • For a normally open switch that's held closed, the lever is drawn below the terminals, but it is in the closed position.
    • For a normally closed switch that's held open, the lever is drawn above the terminals, but it is in the open position.
