Using the information below, first draw a flowchart and then write a program. Show me the flowchart before you start writing the program.
Refer to the HI17-08 Mechanical Layout drawing.

Box 1 can accept sawdust either from the grinder or from a truck containing sawdust. The grinder gets scrap wood from boxes 2 and 3 and discharges sawdust onto the discharge conveyor; the discharge screw moves sawdust from this conveyor to box 1. Hydraulic pump 1 operates a walking floor in the truck that unloads sawdust into box 1. When ultrasound sensor us1 goes high, unloading from the truck stops.

Conveyor ub1 moves sawdust to the vacuum intake of the transfer fan. The transfer fan then blows the sawdust into the silo.

Rules
  • When tf is off, turn off hy1 and ub1.
  • When us1 is low, turn on hy1 and ub1.
  • When us1 is high, turn off hy1 and ub1.

Switch assignments
  • 0 = tf
  • 1 = us1

  • 0 = hy1
  • 1 = ub1
Glossary
  • hy1 = Hydraulic 1 pump (walking floor in truck).
  • tf = Transfer fan sensor (high when fan is on).
  • ub1 = Unload box 1 conveyor motor.
