  • Find Web sites with information about one or more of the following:
    • Tesla coil construction
    • Robotic module construction
    • Photovoltaic charge controllers, plans for building them
    • 12 VDC to 120 VAC inverters, plans for building them
    • Photovoltaic panels
    • Anything that you'd like to build.
  • Put links to these Web sites onto a Web page (using Nvu), and e-mail the HTML file to me at bruce@mounttaylor.com.
  • For a project of your choosing, create a parts list, complete with prices and where to order the parts.
  • Fill out an NMSU purchase requisition for each vendor.

Do Internet searches for the items below, and put links to the pages you've found onto a Web page (using the Nvu Web editor). Then e-mail the Web page to me.
  • Gate opener (preferably free plans for one)
  • Small solar panels (approx 1 ft. x 1 ft.)
  • Large solar panels (approx 3 ft. x 3 ft.)
  • Anti-static procedures for handling FETs and MOS devices.
  • 12 VDC to 120 VAC inverters.
    • See if there are plans for building inverters
  • Info on how solar panels work and what their characteristics are
  • Info on how lead acid batteries work (especially deep-cycle batteries) and what you need to do in order to charge them properly. Also, how to tell the percent of charge that's left in the battery.
  • Information about the lowest hours of sunshine in the winter (so we know how big a storage battery to buy).

  • Solder leads onto potentiometers (for use with breadboards)
  • Fasten leads onto light switches (for use with breadboards)
  • Wire-wraping project
