Note: If you smell burning insulation, see smoke, or if the transformer gets hot, unplug the transformer immediately.
- Use a breadboard to connect together the center two wires on a transformer with dual secondary windings.
- Connect an alligator ground clip on a scope probe to these center wires.
- Connect the channel 1 scope probe to one of the outer secondary wires.
- Connect the channel 2 scope probe to the other outer secondary wire.
- Adjust the scope so that you can see one or two sine wave cycles.
- Position one trace in the upper part of the screen and the other trace in the lower part of the screen.
- Below, make a rough sketch of the two waveforms.
