Example:
For a frequency of  20 kHz and a 5 uF capacitor, Xc = 1/2πfC = 1/(2 x 3.14 x 20x103Hz x 5x10-6F) = 1.59 ohms
The calculator sequence is as follows: 1 / ( 2 x 3.14 x 20 EXP 3 x 5 EXP 6 +/- ) =

Calculate Xc for the following frequency and capacitor values:
  1. 6 kHz, 12 uF
  2. 8 MHz, 30 uF
  3. 300 MHz, 500 pF

Example:
For a frequency of  3 kHz and a 6 H inductor, XL = 2πfL =2 x 3.14 x  3x103H x 6 H = 113,040 ohms = 113 k ohms

Calculate XL for the following frequency and inductor values:
  1. 2 kHz, 5 H
  2. 7 MHz, 20 mH
  3. 12 MHz, 15 uH
Example:
For a series resistor & capacitor circuit, calculate the total voltage if the resistor voltage is 3 volts and the capacitor voltage is 4 volts.
Vt2 = Vr2 + Vc2
square root of (Vt2) = square root of (Vr2 + Vc2)
Vt = square root of (Vr2 + Vc2) = square root of (32 + 42) = 5 volts

Calculate Vt for series circuits having the following resistor and capacitor voltages:
  1. Vr = 10 volts, Vc = 10 volts
  2. Vr = 7 volts, Vc = 9 volts
  3. Vr = 80 volts, Vc = 100 volts
